The song is a lament for the band's loved home city of Brighton, UK. It reflects upon the city's brand image of diversity, and pits it against the darker problems of drink and substance misuse, polarized within a white collar culture and a neglected street community. it is also a personal confession of apathy, contradiction and ignorance towards the crisis of human vulnerability and damage within society.
